Mental and Physical Wellness in RetirementAchieving Wellness with Copeland Oaks
At Copeland Oaks, we encourage an active retirement. We’re a faith-based community that embraces holistic health. We believe whole-person health includes fitness of mind, body and soul. The truth is that getting active not only adds years to your life, it can add life to your years.
Physical Wellness
As a senior, physical health is more important than ever. Even if you’ve lived a sedentary life, beginning a fitness routine has proven to reap significant benefits — for mind and body.
- Reduce your risk of illness and chronic disease — exercise boosts your immune system and digestive function, lowers blood pressure, builds bone density, helps manage diabetes and obesity, lowers your risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, and certain cancers.
- Improve your mobility, flexibility, and balance — strength training can also help alleviate symptoms of chronic conditions like arthritis.
As with any exercise regime, consult your doctor first, to determine the best and safest activities for you.
