Our community is open to adults who are 55 years of age and older from across Ohio and throughout the U.S. Representing different backgrounds and faiths, our active and vibrant residents display a zest for life, exploring a variety of interests, activities and relationships. They come to Copeland Oaks to embrace life and retirement. It is the Christian spirit, sense of adventure and down-to-earth Midwestern values that binds the community.
New residents tell us that they feel “very welcome” at Copeland Oaks. They find it easy to make new friends or renew old acquaintances. They enjoy the positive energy of the campus and the casual lifestyle. The positive energy also flows from the staff who enjoy spreading their happiness throughout the campus as they meet the needs, requests and wishes of Copeland residents in all accommodations.
Holistic wellness, exploring the humanities and enjoying the arts are woven throughout the fabric of events, programs and activities on campus. The Creativity Center offers a myriad of opportunities to create and appreciate painting, drawing, handcrafts, needlework, jewelry making, floral designing, carving, zentangle, etc. Galleries throughout the campus display work of resident artists and artisans as well as world-renowned artists including Viktor Schreckengost. The library is fully stocked with a variety of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs, and a user-friendly card catalog. Music abounds with performances by local and regional bands, vocalists and musicians in a variety of genres from classical to country.
Copeland Oaks’ warm relationship with the University of Mount Union in nearby Alliance, offers open-ended opportunities to attend free classes, lectures, concerts, theater performances, sports and special events.
