As reported by local health officials, there are now confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cuyahoga County. To date, there are no confirmed cases in Mahoning County, to include Crandall Medical Center and Copeland Oaks. Several preventative measures are being taken to ensure the safety and welfare of our residents, staff and visitors. Considering the elderly are at an increased susceptibility to the illness, we are implementing a proactive approach regarding visitation onto our campus. At this time, under the Governor’s order, Copeland Oaks Assisted Living and Crandall Medical Center are restricting outside non-medical visitors to protect the health and safety of our residents. Exceptions will be made for end of life situations.
We are currently working on solutions to take the place of live visits for Crandall Medical Center, such as; virtual visitation including FaceTime and video calls. If you are interested in arranging a call with your loved one, please contact our Social Service department.
Rest assured, Copeland Oaks and Crandall Medical Center continues to monitor and follow the recommended Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. We will continue to keep you abreast of any changes. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is encouraging facilities to actively screen and restrict visitation by those meeting their updated criteria, as listed below:
- Signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as; fever, cough, shortness of breath or sore throat
- In the last 14 days, has had contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, or is under investigation for COVID-19, or are ill with respiratory illness.
- International travel within the last 14 days to countries with sustained community transmission.
- Residing in a community where community-based spread of COVID-19 is occurring.
