Warm up this fall with this delicious soup!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 6 cups water
- 1 28 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 2 cups green peppers, chopped
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. beef bouillon granules
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 2 cups long-grain rice, cooked
Optional Ingredients:
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Directions:
- Place ground beef in a Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Cook the beef, breaking it apart as it browns.
- Once browned, drain the meat, and stir in the remaining ingredients, minus the rice (add in step 6).
- Bring mixture to a boil.
- Once a boiling temperature is reached, reduce heat and simmer uncovered until peppers are tender (around 30 minutes).
- Add cooked rice and let simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
- If desired, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve and enjoy!
