Warm up this fall with this delicious soup!

Ingredients: 

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 28 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cups green peppers, chopped
  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. beef bouillon granules
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 2 cups long-grain rice, cooked

Optional Ingredients: 

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Directions:

  1. Place ground beef in a Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Cook the beef, breaking it apart as it browns.
  3. Once browned, drain the meat, and stir in the remaining ingredients, minus the rice (add in step 6).
  4. Bring mixture to a boil.
  5. Once a boiling temperature is reached, reduce heat and simmer uncovered until peppers are tender (around 30 minutes).
  6. Add cooked rice and let simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
  7. If desired, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
