“A Spark of Creativity” was the theme for the 2019 National Assisted Living Week which took place September 8-14. Assisted Living residents and staff celebrated the week by becoming “creative” in many planned activities offered.

The events kicked off on Monday with a sip and paint group taught by Cora from Countryside Creations. Residents created a fall painting with step by step instruction from Cora. On Tuesday, residents enjoyed a creative performance by Carol Starre-Kimiecik as she portrayed Jackie Kennedy-Onassis. On Wednesday, residents participated in Pet Therapy Palooza where they made treats for their furry friends and enjoyed the creative pet fashions. The week’s celebrations were wrapped up with yoga, a picnic, making crafts out of recyclables, tie dying shirts, and creative music.

“This week was the perfect opportunity for residents to “spark their creativity.” We had a lot of activities planned for everyone to enjoy. Residents truly enjoy this week each year” said Activities Coordinator, Heather Sedlacek.
