Crandall Medical Center: Skilled Nursing Facility

Skilled nursing and nursing homes are commonly misunderstood.

Skilled nursing actually describes the type of service a facility offers. Skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes and convalescent homes are all terms – often used interchangeably – to describe licensed residential facilities that offer a high-level care for seniors who require 24/7 monitoring for chronic medical conditions.

At Crandall Medical Center, our team of Registered Nurses direct and plan resident care, assess the resident status on an ongoing basis, interface with the medical staff and more to accommodate the needs of all of our residents – at every stage of life and level of health. Each new resident is assessed upon their arrival to form a specialized plan of care that is catered to their specific physical, emotional, psychological, intellectual, social and spiritual needs.

Short Term Rehabilitation Center

Short-term rehabilitation provides therapy for individuals recovering from a surgery, illness or accident. Generally, those needing short-term, in-patient rehabilitation may remain involved in their program at one of our facilities for as little as a couple of days up to several weeks. Short-term rehabilitation for seniors provides around-the-clock medical care and therapeutic services. It’s a smart choice for assisting a elderly loved one recuperating from a stroke, joint replacement, neurological ailment, or any number of different surgeries.

At Crandall Medical Center, rehabilitative care may include daily physical, occupational and/or speech therapy, depending on the patient’s needs. Length of stay depends on an individual’s ability to make progress and complete established rehabilitative goals. Keep in mind that most insurance coverage, including Medicare, requires a defined stay in an acute care setting before admittance to a short-term rehabilitation center.

Because Crandall Medical Center is located right on campus, Residents of Copeland Oaks don’t need to go far to receive the care they need. Crandall’s team of caregivers include a:

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Podiatrists
  • Psychiatrist
  • Psychologist
  • Audiologists
  • Dentist
  • Optometrists
  • Massage Therapist
  • Registered Nurses
  • Licensed Practical Nurses
  • State Tested Nursing Assistants

In addition, the short-term rehab, occupational and physical therapy, and outpatient therapy programs at Crandall Medical Center all include personalized treatment plans and integrative care that targets the specific needs and goals of each patient. A team of healthcare professionals works with each individual and their family to set short- and long-term rehabilitation goals.

Long Term Skilled Nursing
