Dave Mannion of Beloit has been appointed chief executive officer and Jason Cicchillo, LNHA, of Boardman has been appointed chief operating officer at Copeland Oaks Retirement Community in Sebring.
Mannion will also continue as chief financial officer, a position he has held at Copeland Oaks since 1995. Cicchillo, a licensed nursing home administrator, has been administrator for Crandall Medical Center and Copeland Oaks Assisted Living, and director of the Copeland Health Clinic since November, 2013. Crandall Medical Center is the rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility on the Copeland campus. The retirement community includes 107 assisted living apartments. The Health Clinic provides nursing and wellness services to Copeland residents in independent living and employee health services to Copeland/Crandall staff.
Stepping down is Phil Braisted who has served as Copeland executive director since 2002. Braisted announced the decision at the monthly Copeland residents meeting.In making the announcement Braisted said that the changes being implemented are “a mutually acceptable agreement” between him and the Copeland Board of Directors.
“I feel that it is in the best interests of all parties: for Copeland Oaks, for you the residents, and for me to step aside and to allow new leadership to take the organization in new directions. I am pleased with what we have accomplished over the last 13 years and I am sure that God will continue to bless Copeland Oaks,” he stated.
Greg New, chairman of the Copeland Board of Directors, said that the board unanimously recommended a “realignment of the administrative structure to accommodate a team approach to meet the challenges of the changing health care environment and senior housing industry.”
“The unwavering goal of the Copeland Board of Directors is for Copeland Oaks to grow and flourish as a retirement community where adults aged 55 and over can find an engaging, vibrant, affordable and progressive place to call home,” he emphasized. “We are blessed and proud that Dave Mannion and Jason Cicchillo have brought their depth of experience in the arenas of health care, senior living and finance to guide Copland Oaks to continued success,” he added.
Besides his 20 years as CFO, Mannion served as interim executive director from 2001 to 2002. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Youngstown State University with majors in accounting, economics and management. Before joining Copeland Oaks, Mannion worked for 10 years in the financial arena for Marriott Hotels and Hospitality Services. Mannion is serving his third term as Smith Township Trustee.
Mannion is president of the Sebring-West Branch Community Foundation, treasurer of the Greater Alliance Development Corporation, chairman of the Mahoning County Health District Administrative Council and a member of the Canfield Fair Board.

Cicchillo has been an Ohio licensed nursing home administrator for the past 15 years. A graduate of Youngstown State University, Cicchillo served as vice president of operations for Integrated Health Services with operating responsibilities for 22 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Beginning his health care career as assistant administrator at Beeghly Oaks in Boardman, Cicchillo was executive director at Humility House and Assumption Village, facilities under the Humility of Mary Health Partners umbrella, now
Mercy Health.
Cicchillo identifies one of his goals as “integrating Christian values into all aspects of the decision making process each day”
Lisa Gentile will continue as Administrator of the Oaks Foundation.
