History of Copeland Oaks

Copeland Oaks, a retirement community in Ohio , was originally the site of a thriving orchard owned by Kenneth B. Cope, a businessman, attorney and trustee of Mount Union College. In his loving memory, the Cope family donated the land in 1963 to be transformed into a place where seniors would have the opportunity to grow and thrive on the same fertile soil.

Four years later, construction was completed on what was then called The Cope Methodist Home and the first residents moved in. Since that time, our retirement community and assisted livingfacility, now known as Copeland Oaks, has been home to more than 2,700 independent minded adults from all faiths, operating in covenant with the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Over the years, our retirement community in Ohio has witnessed numerous enhancements and growth. New amenities and services have been added to meet the evolving needs and interests of our residents. While Copeland Oaks has undergone many changes in the past 40-plus years, what has remained constant is our unwavering commitment to serving residents with integrity and compassion–and providing an environment that enable seniors to flourish during their retirement years.
